Winter Wedding Fashion

There is no shortage of options to choose from when it comes to your wedding dress in the colder months and so many accessories too. Think beautiful capes, gorgeous jackets and coats, faux fur, gloves – the list goes on and on! Rather than having to worry about being too hot in your dress, you only need to think about layers and how cosy warm you’ll be! Why not swap out those heels and keep your feet toasty in some beautiful warm boots!

Incorporate Winter into Your Refreshments

Winter is a time for hearty, warming food and drinks and your winter wedding is no different! Imagine a hot chocolate bar where guests can select their toppings! Mulled wine to warm the cockles of everyone’s heart, hot toddies and glasses of port. You could even have a barista on hand to make beautiful Irish coffee!

As for food, there are so many options! Think canapes of your favourite hearty soup with delicious bread. Beautiful cheeses, little canapes of your favourite hearty meals! You can really go all out with your options!

Snow-capped Mountains

The view from Waipuna is truly breath-taking year-round – but those Southern Alps with a good dusting of snow on them are mesmerising! Imagine exchanging your vows on the terrace at Waipuna, the outdoor heaters providing warmth, with the snowy mountains as the backdrop! Why not arrange a helicopter flight for your photos and land on the snow for some truly epic wedding photos.

Get All Cosy

The fire is roaring, the underfloor heating keeping everyone toasty warm. Beautiful soft lighting is draped around the terrace, candles creating a cosy and warm space for you and your guests. We love the idea of having warm blankets for people to use. You could even have hot water bottles for later on as an added measure. How fantastic are these gloves that featured on the Orange Girl blog?

It’s the Off-Season!

This is a huge benefit of a winter wedding. Not only are you more likely to be able to book the vendors of your choice with a lot more ease than the main wedding season. You may also find many offer winter rates meaning you save some precious dollars!
